Experimenting with the Holga Toy Camera
On a sad note, my vintage 1970's velbon tripod, broke last year and I will sorely miss it. Searching online I wasn't able to locate something with the same stance as the Velbon plus I do not like the new carbon fiber type tripods.. I was beginning to think that I'd not find another tripod until searching the alley behind out house, the neighbor threw away an old mannequin head support stand which is an adjustable tripod or sorts.
There was no mannequin head and the head attachment point was damaged. I cut off the mannequin head adapter which left the single threaded bolt. Being same size as the Pergear's ball joint. Attached the Pergear rotating ball joint and I'm not back in business.
Oddly, the mannequin stand/.tripod is very lightweight, lighter than the old Velbon tripod. Haven't taken any shots with this semi-new setup. but that will change once the Lomochrome film arrives.
So if you're in a pinch needing a lightweight tripod.. looking into using a mannequin head stand..
