What Makes You Push the BUTTON?
I grew up in the "rainbow" period (the '60s), and we are now in the PC era. To me PC makes everyone too much alike, and doesn't allow for our differences. The simple mention of them can get one labeled a "racist" -- shame on you for noticing a difference. We are all the same!
While I can appreciate the motive behind it, it leads to fascism. To me freedom of speech (that our ancestors fought for) trumps what might offend someone. We have to be careful here, that we don't impose a new set of untenable "values".
Art is a chance to be VERY individualistic. Some will call it selfish, but that's not always a bad thing. Your true self may be very kind, sharing and altruistic. Nothing wrong with that.
I really am enjoying what makes people "push". Our thinking behind the "push" is what makes the photo happen in the first place. We can copy one another, but at some point, someone will show us something new.
