photo question

Hey everyone. I thought I heard when photographing things around a heavy green area, like grass or trees and such that you want to adjust down a couple stops from what the camera is saying correct exposure? What is the rule towards photographing with a lot of grass or green?

According to "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson, 2004, Amphoto Books, you should meter off the green and then reduce the exposure by two thirds of a stop. That's what the book reads.

Results may vary... ;-)
