If the price was good, if the lens sounded good yes I would.

I've bought quite a few used lenses on eBay, Craigslist, KEH, Adorama, et al....as long as you know what to look for & ask questions of the seller, there's seldom problems. If a seller professes to know nothing about lenses, be cautious & ask for photos...

Just like Scott, I've bought from all of those places, never had a problem.

Not autofocus ones, unless it's someone I know that babies their gear.

I get manual lenses quite a bit though, online, craigslist, pawnshops, ebay (occasionally).

I buy used lenses from reputable dealers and have some gems to show for it like my 300mm F4 that I shoot hockey with

I buy mostly used or refurbished by OEM.

You can always find good deals on ebay if you look for some time. I got my Canon 70-200 for a pretty sweet price and it's working like a charm!

It has to be a good deal. If I were to only save $200.00 on a $2,000 lens, I would buy new.....B)

Why so serious?

I would, if it was in good condition and a lot cheaper than new.

BUT I've noticed that in HK you can get a grey market lens for about the same price if not cheaper than a 2nd hand lens.

So... yeh probably not.

All my lenses have been bought new with warranty.

I've been wanting to get a 16-28mm tokina FX for a little while now. Have you seen any in HK? How much, if you have...?

I buy used, I havent had any issues yet. I just bought Vivitar 35 - 70mm and f4.5 80 - 200mm macro lens for .99 each. They both look good and work great, and if something happens to them I only spent 2.00 not 500.00
