Leaf Footed Bug Nymph

Took this last summer of a Leaf Footed Bug. This is one of seven nymph stages this insect goes through. Here are two shots I managed to capture.







Here is the adult just after it enmeged from it's last nymph stage. The old exoskeleton is off to the left.





Here is the exoskeleton after it was discarded.

I think he's quite pretty in the first ones, although it looks like over time he does tend to lose his good looks...That's what I like about macro - you see the details you'd otherwise miss. Look at all those markings, striped legs, green belly, spectacular back, and red eyes... I like the first one best because of those eyes looking right at you! It's a great series! Well done!
