Nikon D750 vs Nikon D810 for second body

9 years 6 months ago #408179 by Patrick G
I'm a D800 owner already, however want another body.  The D810 is an easy decision, however with the D750 out, this has me thinking.  I there are a few features like about the D750, just not a lot of user reviews out there yet.  I've only seen a few including the one from Ken Rockwell    .

What's the general thoughts on the D750 from what you read?  Like?  Or Ehhh?

The D750 was the camera I was expecting two years ago. I like what I see, faster frame rate and a more forgiving handholding sensor.  Also, a "D400" , D300 with a 24mp sensor seemed only natural. I'm to the point of having given up on the DX format, and seriously considering a D750 to add to my D800. (D7xxx isn't going to cut it)
So serious I'm going to list for sale a couple nice DX Nikon lenses soon, then it will be all done.....:(

Why so serious?

I'm a D800 owner too, I'd jump on that D750 if I had the spare $$.  I think Nikon did a good job on this one.

I'd be happy with either.  I've been thinking about getting a new body and might just make the move this winter.  I'll most likely move my D300 to Craigslist, and my D700 as second body with the D750 or D810 as my main camera.

I believe the D810 is tops in the Nikon chain for video resolution and has impressive dynamic range

I'm in a similar boat I've got the D800 and I'm considering a second body partly to get something thats slightly less chunky than the D800!

The D750 is quite tempting and as a backup 24mp would be plenty, I just need to decide if I want to pay the premium over the already excellent D610....

Which is on rebate (at least at Adorama) as I write this. $500 off of the D610.

Oh, wait, you're across the pond. Never mind.

What? It's 1080p.  That's not too impressive.
