Any tips for DMC-ZS60 concerts photos?

Got this cam in 2016 and have been happy overall, if it weren't for the fact that I can't seem to be able to do good concert photos with it.

Haven't tried manual mode as I am not really sure what I am doing, but maybe I should...

Any tips?

@Ozzie_Traveller - I can still use the help, tried bunch of settings, options but it doesn't seem to track fast enough on auto focus to do decent concert shots. It' so pathetic, actually our phones are doing better than this camera.

Your phones will appear to do better as they have no focus mechanism to consider - they are all fixed-focus, wide-angle lenses of about F2 max aperture ~ so it appears to do just about everything 'real easy', therefore their popularity to the masses. Also - as most users only view the results on the tiny phone screen, the results always look good!

For you - the Panny will produce heaps better images once you have cracked its best operation

Try:-
a) "A" aperture mode, set to max aperture which will alter a bit as you zoom
b) ISO-1600 with EV +/- set to minus 1,0 [ie: equiv to ISO-3200]
c) focus point set to single-point, medium to large square
d) set WB as AWB as lighting will vary constantly thru the performance
e) use eyepiece not LCD screen during the concert

The idea for b) above is that the performers are under a spotlight and brighter than the background, so setting EV to minus-1,0 will better expose faces etc.
With c) your camera can set single-point focus from a tiny square to a much larger square and you will find that it reacts better with it set to medium size. [with 49 focus points, the camera can be set for 1x or 2x2=4 or 3x3=9 or 4x4=16 or 5x5=25 etc. focus points. I have found that the 4x4 gives me a good result in lower-light situations]

Thanks, your band photos look good. Mainly it's fighting with the camera autofocus...
