I recently attended a Bridal show as the official photographer..having never done any wedding photography before..I looked on it as a starting point for me to develop some skills in that area...Would like some feedback on this Bride Portrait

I would like to see the eyes pop, having some light reflecting in the eyes would give them life. :beerbang: nice. Coloring .

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.

I'm curious as to your settings. It looks almost like the camera back focused, as the eye's don't seem particularly sharp, but the hair on the back of her head seems sharp. Could also be motion blur if your shutter speed wasn't fast enough.

:agree:
I don't think it's motion blur, I think the focus was just a little off. When shooting portraits, focus on the eyes. With an angle where one eye is closer to the camera than the other, make sure the eye nearest to the camera is the exact point that you're focused on.

Thankyou for the feedback, I was photographing a Bridal show..noboby stood still and posed, the lightening was very poor..as it was an evening show and out of my control. I agree with my focus being off, your comments are really appreciated...finding it hard with that split second focusing...or miss the shot..

Not sure what lens you are shooting with, but a faster lens (2.8 or faster) will definitely help out.

Nikon D200
Nikon 50mm f1.8D, Tokina 28-80 f2.8, Nikon 75-300, Sigma 18-200, Nikon SB-600, Nikon SB-25, Promaster triggers
