We have a yearly chef competition. According to the results, the ten best restaurants are in the Western Cape province, around Cape Town, centered in the town of Franschhoek.

Strange, we have very few cultural restaurants where you will find local foods.
I presume we want something different than homely foods when we eat out.

Starbuck was coming last year, but pulled out last minute when they realised Seattle Coffee is on par, but cheaper and well established already. But we have great coffee. Truth Coffee in Cape Town is voted best coffee shop in the world with their steam punk theme.
