Pinky, I am an hour away where the cold and warm current meet.
The west coast is cold, the east and south coast is warm.
The ocean 10 min drive from me is warm.

Overberg? Very nice down there.

No, still Cape Town side of the mountain. Somerset West.
The oceans meet (at the coast) at Cape Point.

Lived in Cape Town for about 13 years. Very beautiful part of the world.

Cape Town must be one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
The diversity around it is just astonishing.
The most beautiful beaches to choose from.
Mountains to climb and hike.
Diversity of flora.
Nature parks.
Then the wine farms start just 15km out of the city.

It is beautiful. But it's also pretty rotten once you look beneath the veneer. I stayed in Kenilworth and almost every night we heard shots being fired. Then the hijackings went through the roof. There was a hijacking right outside my place (a student was killed). Joggers were being attacked, train violence, hikers mugged and killed on the mountains, etc etc. No thanks, not for me. Add to that the massive government incompetence and corruption, bad education and lack of decent paying work and the thrill of living in Africa wore off mighty quick. Sad, really.

So you get the best of both worlds!  Cold water will have certain fish, and warm will have different fish to catch.  Do you ever go out on boats?

Pinkie, my uncle had a big fishing boat that took out the whole family once a year, about 30 of us.
Great when the sea was calm, otherwise not a pleasure.
