I said the same once, I grew up in southern Caliph0rnia...never saw freezing weather until I moved up to NorCal, then to New England. Thought I would die a couple times. Now I hike in thirty to forty below temps, one simply dresses and prepares for the frigid weather. I'd wager more die in this country yearly from heat than cold...I could be wrong but I think it would be close.....
