Heard after 2 weeks that our 3 weeks lockdown is extended for another 2 weeks. I know of a few businesses that banged out.

Nothing will be normal on the other side.

My favourite pub already did not survive the economic pressure.
For the first time the homeless were given an area, tents, mattresses...
Our SA junk status economy will not survive this.
Our national airline that was nearly bankrupt, (was sometime late with salaries) is grounded.
I’m sure there will be lots of landmarks that will disappear.

How bad is your homeless problem there?

I guess it's average.

I guess average, yes.
After apartheid SA was the only first world country in Africa. So 25 years ago border became like the Mexican border and we were flooded with Nigerians, Somali, and Zimbabwean illegals.
So we had a huge increase of homeless.

Wait are you originally from SA?  For some reason I thought you were from Europe originally?

No, my forefathers came to SA from Europe in the late 17th century.
I have a strong mixture of mostly German and French blood.

I'll jump into this chat.  I have a close friend who gets to SA usually once a year.  How much do you pay for gas there?

I'm surprised that gas prices here  haven't dropped more here.

Our South African petrol price is stacked with all kinds of fees and taxes. Like the Road Accident Fund. If you lose working ability due to a road accident, the fund pays for your future livelihood.
The Rand $ exchange is deteriorating, so there was only about a 10% drop in the price.
