Yes. Try holding a 70-200 on a D3 in shgooting position for 5 minutes waiting for the shot without one. Belt support is great!
Do you have a QR plate mounted on all your cameras?

Yes, occasionally. And I've stuffed up quite a few I thought I had nailed too!
Have you ever concentrated so hard on aperture & s/speed that you forgot ISO and it came out all grainy?
