Being a fan of the original film, it was cool to see the "history" of it.
The visual effects were cool and the new vehicles were pretty good.
Didn't focus enough on TRON himself... but that's OK.
It had pacing problems in some places (I got impatient) but the action was awesome and the boring bits weren't too long.
It borrows quite a bit from Star Wars. Flynn Snr. was totally like Obi Wan and Flynn Jnr. was like Luke. In fact, at the end I predicted one of them would get out a light sabre and the female character actually (sorta) did. LOL
So overall, it was pretty good. I'd personally give it:
7/10 Story (it was cool, but could have moved at a faster clip and not followed the orginal plot of reaching the tower so much... how I don't know)
9/10 Effects (it was cool to watch)
a subjective 7/10 music (I got over the 80s sound back in the 80sbut it did suit the story of the guy getting stuck there in the 1980s and therefore using terms like "Radical Man" very often
).
7.5/10 Acting - It wasn't top class, but it was sufficient to suffice as they say.
Overall 7.5/10 it was good in many aspects (effects especially) just not the greatest film I'm seen. It borrowed heavily from other movies (including the original TRON of course). It's a movie well worth seeing though, because... let's face it. It's just darn cool as ice.
