Is it always worth the effort to take a tripod?

Hi all,
Just got back from London and this time I took my (Gitzo Traveller) tripod and so glad I did. I really believe I captured images I would have missed without it.
What do others think?
Do you take a tripod travelling?

Nice set, Niel! Good to see you back.
Whether I take a travel tripod or not depends on what I anticipate along the way. For the shots above, I would certainly have made the effort. I can use a monopod in a way  that I doesn't stir up the constabulary, so I rely on that most times. I also recently added  a mirrorless body that has very good stabilization (4.5 stops) and on which I can use all my Nikkors. I'll try it out in Rome this January.

Yes, but I rarely use it. And by night time I'm tucked away in my hotel room.

Only if I think I'll need it.

Nice series,
i´m also looking for a Gitzo for wildlife, i already bought an Induro gimbal, but my current tripod isn´t sturdy enough for a long lens. It´s always worth taking one even if you dont use it all the time, there´s always a situation where it´s needed i find.
