Backpack that will hold a DJI Phantom 4 and Mavic 2?

2 months 4 hours ago #691267 by Amy Porter
Can you suggest a comfortable backpack that will hold a DJI Phantom 4 and Mavic 2 please?  I just ordered or bought rather a Phantom from someone on ebay and it will be here on Tuesday next week.  I want a bag that will carry both drones.

Thanks!

in all honesty, no, i couldn't recommend a backpack. i don't think any backpack bag would fit both of those two drones and offer the protection needed. my biggest fear would be not having enough protection for the batteries. one hard hit can cause them to combust. even in a flame retardant baggie i wouldn't want them carried so close to my body.

at work we use hard cases. i have a smaller semi-hard case for personal use.

I was afraid of that, and those hard cases can get heavy too.  You mind me asking which hard case you are using?

:thx2:

i'm not sure what we use at work, but they're huge and not the most mobile of cases.

for my m2p i use this case for carrying the drone around:  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HBMVBKG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1

for storage or harder protection i have a hard case i bought from harbor freight.  it has the foam insert that's been cut into a million squares, you just remove what you need to to make a drone or battery shaped hole.  it was about $50.

forgot to mention.  i use a military style backpack for carrying camera equipment around while hiking.  it has the molle system straps on the front and sides, so if i wanted to take the drone on a hike i could clip the semihard case on to the front of the bag.  it wouldn't be the most comfortable thing ever but i've done it with a tripod and it isn't too bad.
