The Fujifilm X-T10 was one of the first and most prominent mirrorless cameras made available by Fujifilm when it was first released in 2015. On the outside, it appeared to be an SLR, despite Fujifilm’s penchant for creating rangefinder cameras. But, on the inside, it featured one of the highest resolution electronic viewfinders that had ever come out.

The Fujifilm X-T10, which was Fujifilm’s follow up to the X-T1, did most of the same things. It looked vintage, but it acted modern. The Fujifilm X-T10 is not quite as advanced as the X-T1 in some ways, which meant that Fujifilm was able to keep the Fujifilm X-T10 in an affordable price range for more photographers. However, by getting rid of a few, sometimes unnecessary, features, Fujifilm created a more versatile camera.

Since there is no question about whether the Fujifilm X-T10 was a great camera when it was released in 2015, the real question becomes whether this camera is worth your money in 2021.

In this Fujifilm X-T10 review, we are going to go over all of the Fujifilm X-T10 features, the Fujifilm X-T10 design, and finally, the Fujifilm X-T10 video performance.

FujiFilm X-T10 Specs

The Fujifilm X-T10 features a 16MP X-Trans CMOS II APS-C sensor, a 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder, and a 3” 920k-dot tilting LCD.

The camera is a few years old, so its low-light shooting isn’t great. It has an ISO range of 200-6400 which can be expanded to 100-51,200 if you’re shooting JPEG.

Again, since the camera is older, it cannot shoot 4K video. It can, however, shoot full HD 1080p video at up to 30p.

The camera also features Wi-Fi connectivity and is relatively light, which means you can take it with you wherever you want to go.

Other Fujifilm X-T10 Specs Include:

  • 16 MP X-Trans CMOS II APS-C sensor
  • EXR processor II
  • 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder
  • ISO range of 200-6400
  • 3” 920k-dot tilting LCD
  • Full HD video capabilities at up to 60p
  • Built-in flash
  • Built-in Wi-Fi
  • 350-shot battery life
  • 13.44 oz

FujiFilm X-T10 Body & Design

While the Fujifilm X-T10 specs may seem a bit outdated, the Fujifilm X-T10 body remains relevant since it is such a classic build.

The camera measures 4.6” x 3.3” x 1.8” and weighs 13.44 oz. It looks as if it is a film-era SLR, which many people are attracted to. While the body is mostly made out of magnesium alloy, the camera also comes with a rubber covering that allows you to grip the camera comfortably.

A few of the buttons on this camera are made out of plastic, but they don’t stand out and don’t make the camera look cheap.

You should expect this camera to be an easy transition for you if you’re accustomed to shooting with Fujifilm. The top of the camera features three dials: the drive mode dial, the shutter speed dial, and the exposure compensation dial.

The camera is essentially a reworking of the X-T1.

FujiFilm X-T10 Build & Handling

The Fujifilm X-T10 build is solid, but the Fujifilm X-T10 handling is what most photographers purchase the camera for.

The grip on the Fujifilm X-T10 is a little bit smaller than the grip on the X-T1, which may feel odd for those who are upgrading. However, it is definitely still comfortable thanks to the rubberized texture.

The camera can shoot up to 350-shots on one charge, which is wonderful considering more modern cameras are having some issues reaching this range.

Essentially, if you liked the feel of SLRs, then you’re going to like the feel of the Fujifilm X-T10.

FujiFilm X-T10 Video Performance

As I already mentioned, the Fujifilm X-T10 video obviously isn’t incredible since this camera is 6 years old. The above video review by DPReview TV is from 2015 when this camera first came out, so keep that in mind.

This camera can shoot Full HD video at up to 60p with a 36Mbps bitrate. You can also shoot at 50, 30, 25 and 24fps. Your video clips cannot be longer than 27 minutes and the camera does not offer a headphone jack, though it does offer a 2.5mm microphone jack. If you’re planning on using this camera to shoot video regularly, then you will want to get an adapter.

If you know much about the X-Trans sensor that this camera uses, then you know it isn’t great for video. Even back in 2015 a lot of videographers complained about issues like false color.

If you’re looking to purchase this camera for its still image quality, but still want to make use of its video capabilities, then you’ll be happy to know that it allows you full manual control when shooting video.

FujiFilm X-T10 Price

Since the FujiFilm X-T10 was released in May of 2015, there are plenty of used options available online which will help you save a ton of money. The FujiFilm X-T10 price was $800 when it first came out, but you can now pick one up for well under $300.

As everyone who has been reading PhotographyTalk for a while knows, we always recommend that photographers go to MPB for all of their used camera gear needs.

MPB hosts a huge array of used cameras and lenses, so you can find just about anything you could ever need there. MPB also hires professional photographers to rate each piece of equipment that they purchase, so you know exactly what you’re buying.

MPB’s rating system works like this. The cameras in the best shape are labelled “like new” and generally don’t look as if they have been out of their original box for more than a few weeks. Cameras that are in the worst shape are labelled “faulty” and at that point you know what you’re getting. Most cameras that MPB sells are in either “like new” or “excellent” condition.

All of the used Fujifilm X-T10 bodies currently available on MPB are in either “good” or “excellent” condition and they start at just $280.

And, if you have an old camera that you’re looking to trade in to purchase a Fujifilm X-T10, you can do that on MPB too.
