  1. Kevin and Shannon Barbour started Barbour Backdrops when a few unique walls they designed for a local photographer caught the attention of other photographers. As working professionals, these photographers recognized that the Barbours’ backdrops were different and better than what was available on the market. The Barbours were motivated to develop a process that allows great texture and depth on canvas and a system to attach baseboards easily. Each backdrop and prop is individually crafted by hand. This ensures the high quality and uniqueness of the decorative finishes. The various collections of Barbour Backdrops and Props have been designed to combine both classic and modern influences, resulting in a beautiful elegant style.

  1. Today, Barbour Backdrops has grown to become a family-owned and -operated business. Steffani, their oldest daughter, handles all customer service and administrative responsibilities while Nick, their only son, is in charge of all packaging and shipping. Plus, Kingston, Steffani’s son is often the model for their backdrop and prop pictures.

  1. To introduce more portrait and fashion photographers to its many multi-functional, affordable and easy-to-use backdrops and props, Barbour Backdrops has created the Barbour Ink Backdrop Exchange Club. Members receive a new printed backdrop every other month for a year of six they selected in advance. Members then have the use of the backdrop for approximately 7 weeks before exchanging it for another of their selections. After 12 months, qualified members receive one of their six backdrops for free.

  1. Initially, Barbour Backdrops is offering members 10 backdrops from which to choose their six favorites. These are Adobe, Eastwood, Claudia, Alyssa, Kiefer, Lilly, Miguel, Pauly, Phoenix and Santiago. Barbour will add two new drops to the list every four months, starting May 2012.

  1. Photographers also have the option of three membership categories based on the size of printed backdrops they need for their work.

  1. The 50” x 60” category is just $39.95 per month, with a one-time membership fee of $75.

  2. The 72” x 96” category is $49.95 per month, with a one-time membership fee of $140.

  3. The 100” x 120” category is only $59.95 per month, with a one-time membership fee of $190.

All membership backdrops are shipped for free.

  1. Becoming a member of the Barbour Ink Backdrop Exchange Club helps portrait, fashion, product and other types of photographers overcome one of their biggest challenges: backdrop variety. With six different backdrops a year and a free seventh one at the end of the year, photographers can give their customers more unique settings.

  1. Another exceptional benefit of the club is using backdrops before purchasing them. Members, whose customers like a particular backdrop, may purchase any of their six club selections at a significantly reduced price.

  1. Barbour Ink Backdrop Exchange Club members also qualify for 10% off all Barbour products and exclusive special offers.

  1. The Barbours also value club members’ feedback and comments, so they will have the opportunity to see new products and designs before they are available to all photographers.

  1. The greatest benefit of relying on Barbour Backdrops and Props is the company’s outstanding selection of backdrops and props.

  1. The Legendary Photography Drops Collection features 25 different designs. Each drop is mastered using a combination of plasters and glazes to create texture, depth and dimension.

  2. The Haute Legendary Photography Drops Collection has metallic finishes that add richness and a fun quality to all portraits. They are available in red, blue, pink, gold and silver.

  3. Barbour Ink Printed Photography Backdrops offer 60 choices of wrinkle-resistant, lightweight and budget-conscious printed backdrops. Each design is handcrafted and the transfer process gives each of them a greater three-dimensional quality.

  4. Barbour Backdrops is a one-stop source for virtually any staging elements a photographer may need, including baseboards, daybeds, boxes, floors, baby bags, tuffets, vintage posing drawers, Kingston lids and throws.
