Great Zoom But Mediocre Specs
The Nikon Coolpix P1000 has a 16.0MP 1/2.3-in CMOS sensor which produces raw (NRW) or JPEG images of average quality and an ISO range from 100 to 6,400 which will give you trouble when working in low-light conditions.
Besides, the camera is very big (146.3 x 118.8 x 181.3mm) and weighty (1,415g) so it is not very practical for traveling or street photography.
The camera features a 0.39-inch electronic viewfinder with 2,359k dots. On the back of the camera, there is a 3.2-inch, 921,000-dot LCD screen that can be flipped out and rotated 180-degrees.
The camera offers good connectivity options. There is an HDMI output, a plug for an external microphone, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS technologies for connecting to smart devices.
Images and videos are stored on an SD/SDHC/SDXC card while the battery life can extend to around 250 shots.

On the good side, the camera offers 4K UHD video recording at 30fps and Full HD video recording at 60fps.

The Nikon Coolpix P1000 is priced at $996.95 at the time of writing for the camera only, while you can buy it with a tripod for $1,018.03.
You should consider the second option because you will need a tripod if you are willing to try the camera’s extreme ranges of zoom.
