Panasonic Lumix DC-GX9 Specs

The Panasonic Lumix DC-GX9 is packed into a rangefinder styled body that weighs less than one pound and has dimensions of 4.9 x 2.8 x 1.8 inches. Although compact and lightweight, this is a powerful camera which improved specifications of its predecessors, the GX7, GX8, and GX85.

The camera features a 20.3 megapixel Micro Four Thirds sensor without a low-pass filter and has an ISO range of 200-25600 (expandable to 100-25600).

In addition, the camera uses the Venus Engine Image Processor and offers in-body image stabilization system, 6fps burst shooting with continuous AF, DFD (depth from Defocus) contrast-detect autofocus, 4K UHD video capture at 30p with a possibility to extract 8MP stills.

Other notable features are the capability to record FHD videos up to 60 fps, built-in flash, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and many other useful options which will allow you to make high-quality images and videos.

Top Features of the GX9: Tilting EVF & Built-in Flash

The Panasonic Lumix DC-GX9 incorporates a 3-inch vari-angle touchscreen display which can angle upwards by around 90 degrees and by about 45 degrees downwards. This means you can easily shoot footage from different angles, but it will not be as easy to take selfies or to use the camera for vlogging.

In case you prefer to use the EVF, the GX9 has a tilting electronic viewfinder (2.76M dots) which can be angled by about 90 degrees. Touch-screen technology will allow you to reposition the AF area even when you are using theelectronic viewfinder.

The camera also has a built-in flash, which is a feature that most of the cameras in the market lack. Still, users are not very satisfied with its capabilities, so we wouldn’t recommend you to fully rely on it.

Lumix DC-GX9 Connectivity

The camera has built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection so you can transfer data to your tablet or phone.

The battery life is below average. Do not expect to take more than 260 shots before your battery runs down. Still, there is an option to use the camera in the power-save mode which will allow you to extend battery life.

One of the convenient options is that you can use the USB port to charge the camera from a computer.
