I’m building up my camera accessories stock because, let’s face it, I have gear acquisition syndrome and I don’t have the need for a brand-new camera right now since I’m rarely shooting.

But, wedding photography gear is expensive. It’s especially expensive if you think an accessory will work for you, but you find out a few weddings down the line that it either isn’t comfortable or isn’t making your workflow any easier.

To help you stock up on your camera accessories right now, we created a small list of wedding photography camera accessories that are bound to make your life just a little bit easier once the pandemic is over and weddings can resume at last.

EDC Fieldbook

One of my least favorite things about wedding photography is the fact that I rarely look put together. There’s so much to remember when you’re shooting weddings, especially if you are really new to the photography industry. So, I always end up with a pile of papers splayed in whatever corner of the room is dark enough. I’m pretty sure I look like a little photography goblin.

I think I’ve tried every single app available for wedding photographers (which is shockingly more than you would have imagined). No app is streamlined, easy to use with just one hand, and inexpensive.

At this point, I’m pretty much resigned to doing it the old fashioned way, but I didn’t want to risk losing an all-important piece of paper when I’m doing my goblin move in the corner of the room. I’d hate to accidentally lose one of my shot lists.

But, you can be old-fashioned like me and still look put together. It’s why Holdfast created the EDC Fieldbook.

The EDC Fieldbook is a leather-covered journal and pen holder that doubles as a wallet so you can keep your ID, your wedding notes, and a flashlight all in one place.

This fieldbook is made of the same high-quality leather that the rest of the Holdfast lineup is made with, so all of your camera accessories will still match.

Plus, for $85, it’s the cheapest way to protect your all-important shot list from all sorts of disaster.

Quiet Camera Holdfast

Another major problem I’ve been having with my camera accessories lately is that they’re noisy. You’d think that manufacturers creating camera accessories for wedding photography would account for this problem, but more often than not these camera accessories are just as noisy as all of the other ones.

This is especially true of camera screws that I use with my shoulder straps or harnesses. It seems like every time someone is about to say, “I do,” I find myself frantically grabbing for my second camera that won’t stop squeaking hanging around my neck.

Not only is it truly embarrassing, but I’d hate to have these squeaks and creaks end up in a video of the ceremony.

I hate to say it, but I’ve even had this problem with Holdfast’s camera screws. That’s why they created a new camera screw. The Quiet Camera Holdfast is a new camera screw that is specifically designed to be sturdier, and thus to be more quiet.

I’m not sure exactly how they did it, and I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t tell me either because this camera screw is a godsend. I’d protect the trade secrets of it with my life.

It’s a $30 camera screw that comes with a thread lock and is miraculously quiet.

When I first got mine, I was a little worried it was going to damage my camera because it took a lot of effort to screw it in, but rest assured it will not.

The website actually warns photographers about this. It also warns you that the coating on the camera screw will wear down over time, but that the coating is not what makes the screw extra quiet. It’s simply built better.

If you’re on the market for some new camera accessories to help you be stealthy at your next wedding, this one is it.

Bridle Leather MoneyMaker

None of your camera accessories are going to make much of a difference if you can’t carry your camera around comfortably for hours at a time.

The Bridle Leather MoneyMaker is a camera harness that will make working with all of your other camera accessories a breeze.

The MoneyMaker is made of only the highest quality materials, including leather from U.S. native steer hides and stainless steel D-rings.

Each MoneyMaker is weather-resistant, and you can build your own camera harness set up with additional camera leashes so you can carry up to 3 cameras on your body at one time.

The MoneyMaker comes in a variety of colors: tan, chestnut, or black. This way you can ensure all of your equipment matches.

Unlike other camera harnesses, the MoneyMaker is not one size fits all because the creators realized that putting in the time and effort to create different sized harnesses would mean they would fit even better to keep you comfortable all day long.

You can pick up a MoneyMaker for just $230. If you aren’t completely satisfied, you can easily return it because every Holdfast product is for life.

A Fast Memory Card (or Two...or Three)

Of course, the breakneck pace of wedding photography requires that you have memory cards that can handle the workload.

For me, ProGrade memory cards are the ultimate choice. I use ProGrade UHS-II cards in my Canon EOS R and my Canon M6 Mark II, and they have proven time and again to the be perfect option for my photo and video needs.

These cards are reliable, durable, and lightning-fast, which is just what you want in a memory card, particularly when the stakes are so high at a wedding!

I know that memory cards might not be as fun or as sexy to buy as other photography gear, but they are one of the most important pieces of your kit, and you can't skimp and buy cheap cards if you want to find success as a wedding photographer!
