I think they leave Kansas early, and never return.

Oh I could give that guy good examples of Canon users being arrogant. I was shooting waterfalls one day and saw a guy setting up his shot so I waited till he was done, So then I wnet and set up waiting for the light to get right and the guy purposely sat right in the area I was shooting until what I was shooting was in the shadows. He was carrying a Canon. Now I could have shot the photo and claimed all Conon users were aroogant or, as I have concluded the guy was an ahole, and is not matter what he uses. I should have shot at him to get him to move but that would have been irresponsible gun ownership and I would never do that.

Hey, accidents happen.

i think a thread about and only including Victorias Secret models should be moderated by Russell James since he shoots so much of their ad material and he would know the proper names for the colors in the materials in use.. Russell are you out there LOL ?

I'd consider the price first, followed by customer support and product support. I think the scales tip toward Canon under this consideration...which is why I went to Canon...however, I still think I took better photos with my previous Sony Alpha...hmmm....

Maybe you're just not used to canon yet? :O

Probably true! But, this makes me think of another good point when choosing a camera... What I didn't like about the Sony were the lack of lenses and accessories (at least at the time), whereas there are a million lenses and a million accessories for Canon, (and third-parties for Canon) giving me many more options.

Using the 7D now... Obviously, it's a LOT of camera and I know I don't get the max benefit. I think a few classes are on the horizon!

Several years ago a computer store told me they would not sell Cannon products because Cannon did not stand behind its' warranty (A Cannon user may have personal experience that negates that statement. I am just repeating what I was told.) A year or so ago a friend of mine who is a dedicated Canon owner had a problem with his camera the USB port on the camera fell in side the camera and Canon told him HE would have to pay for the repairs that it was abuse of the camera. I know how he treats his equipment it was not something he did. That backed up what I was told years ago. As for Nikon I know a lot of people who shoot them and love them. They had nothing bad to say about the brand. That is my 2cents as to why I went with Nikon. It is a decision I have not regretted for even a second. :)

Advice on cameras from a computer store clerk is like getting advise on TVs from a hardware store. Just saying. I have never had issues with Canon. Their customer service has been first rate. I believe both companies offer outstanding service. Glad you like your D3100 as much as I love my XSi and XT.

They were talking about there own experiences with the company, maybe printers and camera customer service are handled differently. They did not tell me not to get a Canon camera they told me not to get a Canon printer. I took there advice and have stayed away from the Canon brand.

Ive posted this before elsewhere here... but this is exactly the reason why I wouldnt even consider buying a Canon when i bought my first DSLR in 2008. Although it was based on personal experience with Canons printers and scanners (circa 1997-2007, so about 10 years of exp.) not what a computer salesman told me. I figured if their computer hardware was crap... why the hell would i invest a significant amount of money in their camera line...

That said... knowing now how respected that line is in photography, going back in time i may have done a little more research on the matter. But as it stands im quite happy with my Nikon gear :)
