My father had one. It was the first 35mm camera I ever used. Film has to be loaded from the bottom (the back does not swing open). Struggling to load film was the worst aspect of that model. I assume you also have a handheld light meter ...

I had bunch of Leica gear several years ago including a IIIC that I used only a few times.  I used the M cameras regularly.  I can tell you that the shutter is likely to be inaccurate so you will need to spend some time calibrating your light readings to it.  The lens is sharp even with color film which says a lot about Leitz optics from that era.  Be sure that it doesn't have any fungus.  If it does, it can be cleaned.  I think you will have a lot of fun with it.
