i went to staple to look at the canon rebel t2i and i pick up the camera and i look in the viewwindow and i saw that it couldnt reach at the end of the room the len on it was poor that for sure 15 -55 and it wasnt that good which surpirse me on that because the price on that camera was much higher then the nikon d3100. and im still thinking about geting the nikon d3100 because i felt a little more happy with the camera nikon d3100 but i have to travel to spokane or wencheee to get that camera nikon d3100 at bestbuy giggggles gigggles. and i also saw a great bag for the camera too tonight it was big and it would fit the lens that i want to get soon gigggles gigggles people im doing my homework on camera please dont feel offended on it there were some good points on that canon rebel t2i it did have a setting where you can put copyright the pictures in the camera before you put it on the pc. i will keep you guys update on what happens when i get my camera soon gigggles gigggles

Check out B&H online (along with other reputable online dealers). They have user reviews posted for almost every camera they sell (and that's just about every one there is). I find the reviews very helpful. The "kit lens" on most Canons and Nikons is "adequate" but you will soon want to look at other lenses (70-200 or 70-300 zoom and primes of 35mm and 50mm).
Remember that ALL Image Stabilization on Canon and Nikon is in the lens (so you have to buy IS or VR lenses at extra cost to get that feature). Other manufacturers build their IS into the camera so all lenses can benefit.
I shoot Canon but have lots of friends with Sony, Olympus, Pentax and Sigma (all with built in IS) and they are happy with theirs. It is worth looking at.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

but i also saw that the moment you take a picture with that camera it will copyright it which is good to do. they gave me a big piece of paper that tell all about the camera. do you think that the rebel t2i would be better than the nikon d3100. i dont know if the d3100 can do the copyright thing on it

The lens is what gives you "reach across the room".

You seem like a prime candid for a 18-200 lens. Either brand will do.

Then get a 50 1.8 to play with shallow DOF and for darker scenes.
