The manual doesn't say anything about it. You will have to set up on the tripod and take the pictures, then stitch them in a photo editor.

It depends on which photo editor you are using, so we'll have to cover that in class next week.

That's the program you are using to process your files on the computer...Photoshop. Lightroom, Elements , Picasa, are all examples of editors

Canon cameras come with a utility disk that usually includes Photostitch, a program that lets to "stitch" multiple shots together into a panorama. Load the Utilities from the disc to your PC.
It is also available at several sites online like
downloads.zdnet.com/abstract.aspx?docid=640483
Beware- When using one of these sites, do not click on "Fix my PC", or "analyze my PC" or anything like that. These links sometimes "mess" with your PC and you have to buy their software to fix your new problem.
dpreview mentions Autostitch, a free download. Anyone familiar with that one.?

Repeat - DO NOT click on the "free scan" or "fix my PC" links.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Glad you mentioned the "dont click on" they sure do mess with your PC, I only did it once and boy was it a nightmare getting rid of the damned thing.

Many panorama film cameras make them by "masking" off the top and bottom of the frame. It gives a panoramic look but just does the same things as shooting wide and cropping the photo to look wide (the quality goes down).
Not sure if that;s what your old camera did.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

A point and shoot is exactly that... point and shoot. New features on new cameras, so now you can point and shoot to make the panoramic.

DSLR, you have to do things manually. Having a DSLR is work, it's not a cup of tea like a P&S.

Now, there are like maybe one or two new DSLR that has a panoramic feature. But for the most part panoramic feature is only in point and shoots.
