Try turning it sideways for a bounce of the wall. If you want to change things up, you could use a white card to bounce it the side, or use makeshift reflectors, if your don't have reflectors or white cards.
Also try try turning the flash power up & down, make us of the flash bracketing, But maybe try that once you get the hang of the SB600......
+Go to camera menu and choose 'Built-in Flash' option.
+Select 'Commander Mode'. On the SB800 then I selected REMOTE.
+ Make sure the channel selected on the camera and flash correspond...
And then presto no wires!
