As title is asking, for a print of 11x17, where should the photos DPI be at?

Mine is usually set at 240 or 300. Also depends, as if it will be a wall hanger and most will view from four feet away, you can get away with a lower setting. I would advise doing one at 240 and see how it looks.
Many print labs suggest 150, but I print my own.....;)

Why so serious?

Are you asking about the required resolution of a file, or the output resolution for printing?

I would suggest 240 ppi, too, to ascertain image dimensions, but a lot depends upon viewing distance. An 11x17 is going to be viewed from several feet away, which works in your favor.

I print 16mp images at 16x24 all the time, with great results. I usually set my print resolution to 360, but have gone as high as 480, on my Epson 3880. I love printing.

Depends on the printer used.

Different printers print at different DPI, so ask the lab or check your printer's manual.

Don't have any idea how to set it or what it will do to the print. Seem's my printer's have always said they were printing at 300 dpi, I've never questioned them. Biggest photo's I've done were 12x30, they came out fine. Now the biggest one's I print are 13x19 and they come out fine.
