Can I edit a DSLR video with this pc?

Hi guys, I have a "Lenovo IdeaCentre 300-20ISH" pc with 16 gb of ram and an intel core i5-6400 that start from  2.7 gHz to 3.3 gHz with the turbo mod. I want to buy this NIKON D3100 reflex camera to edit some music video. I don't know if my pc can actually edit this DSLR camera's videos !!

PC: www.tiendalenovo.es/lenovo-ideacentre-300-20ish-90da00a7sp

CAMERA: www.nikon.com.mx/nikon-products/product-...r-cameras/d3100.html

What's your opinion about this?

Yes. That camera will produce HD .MOV files, which shouldn't pose a problem for an i5-based system. Your 16GB is probably adequate, but you might not want to have much else running at the same time. And different programs have different resource requirements; you don't mention which program you intend to use.

I use adobe pro cc 2017. In the last video edited I used an action cam with 60 fps and a 1980×1080 resolution. In my last video I used 4 video at the same time with the spleet screen and in the time-line the videos sometimes was very slowly but I could edited as well.

None of which has anything to do with a Nikon D3100.

You're asking whether a system can handle an HD video stream at 30 or 60 fps. You already have the answer to that, and you can easily find the specs of the created video files on the Nikon website.

Also:video is very demanding of memory and disk. You need an SSD, you need plenty of memory, you need a fast CPU and fast memory.

I use Vegas, not premiere, and I leave my preview in auto mode, and do RAM renders of short sections to find out whether an edit is good. I don't need broadcast quality while I'm editing, so I scale back. Have you considered the same?

As for 4-camera split screen, that's demanding. period. Perhaps you should look at a new Ryzen system...

Thank you but what do you mean with "SSD" and "fast memory"?
And also what do you mean with :
".. leave my preview in auto mode, and do RAM renders of short sections to find out whether an edit is good. I don't need broadcast quality while I'm editing, so I scale back...?"
And what do you mean with "Ryzen system"?

I'm a musicians that is trying to make music video so I don't KNOW ANYTHING about video editing.
Do you think that 3.3 gHz (as my pc have) it's not enough for edit a music video about 4 or 5 minutes? (I checked and the full hd resolution works with 24 fps)

Thank you again

I don't have anything further to add. Those questions can be answered by going to your favorite search engine and typing in questions. And reading and learning.

As for your system, I attempted to point out that your question is about file type and content, not the camera. You can already edit HD video on your system, and satisfactorily. There's not much more to say other than, 'yes".
