Best lens for Sony a6300 - starting out!

1 year 1 month ago #705111 by Tyler R
My Aunt just gave me a Sony a6300 for Christmas.  She got it not realizing there was no lens with it.  So I need to get one.   I have been taking photos with my iPhone 6 and so excited to have a real camera!

I like to photograph landscapes and people on the street if that helps you understand a little about me.  That might impact what lens you suggest.

OK, that's it for me.  Thank you so much!

G'day Tyler

Great to hear from you - and lucky-you for such a Chrissy pressie

There is no single lens that will be "best" for you - and it is hard for us on the outside to give you a 100% best answer as we don't know your image-style nor budget

However, most beginners get a zoom lens of the "all-in-one" style, with something like the 18mm to 200mm being extremely popular. Such a lens gives a bit of wide-angle for indoors or some landscapes, as well as a reasonable zoom making images about 6x larger than the eye sees them

Hope this helps
