lens cleaning question

I have some wipes that I use to clean my computer. They are sort of like wet wipes. Can I clean my camera lens with them without messing up the lens?

I would not use these. You can try the can of air and see if you can blow the dust of the lens of your camera. And if you have finger prints or smudges on the lens you can use a microfiber cloth.

No, definitely do not ever touch a camera lense with anything, unless absolutely necessary. And then, use a soft, smooth cloth made for lense cleaning and a lense cleaner such as "Promaster Optic Clean" (available at any camera shop or online). Some photographers use lense filters to protect an expensive lense as well as filter the light; while other professionals recommend never using a lense filter. I work in the field quite often and use a filter, as well as a lense hood, to protect the lense from dirt, branches, brush, dust, etc. So my expensive Cannon 100-400 lense is always protected. I hope this helps.
