Online Photography Class

Has anyone taken an online photography classes? If so which one do you recommend? The reason I am asking is because I am a self taught photographer and I would like to take a class, but I do not have time to go to a college course type class, so I thought that an online class might be a good answer.

Jarble,
I teach a self-directed class for DSLR beginners at http//www.CameraShyCasses.com. It's designed to be completed in 5 weeks but you can access the material for up to 6 months. Check it out and feel free to email me if you have any questions.

My sister's daughter was just given her first DSLR (Canon Rebel). She is 15 years old and very smart but doesn't know the first thing about working this. Would your class be good for her considering her age, or does it not matter? My sister was going to put her into night school at community college, but I was telling her that there must be a online option.

Let me please.

Jeff

I took an course (not online) with New York Institute of Photography. They send materials through the mail and you get out there and practice what they teach, send in photos and they critique them. Already being an avid photographer, I took the course anyway just to see if I was missing anything because I was self taught also. I have to admit there were plenty of tips and history that I learned and put to use. But, you just have to have the "eye" to round out your own photography style.

I think it was well worth the money I spent. And they give you three years to complete the courses. I believe it was 10 units of 3-4 books each. They have a web site you can check out for more information. www.nyip.com

I have taken several onlinephoto classes from:
www.betterphoto.com
These are usually either 4 or 8 weeks classes on photography and photoshop topics.

Another online offer is www.ppsop.com

I would recommend either site.
