Hello all,

I have recently started table top still life and looking for a new lens I have a 28-135 that I used on my A2 in my film days. Any ideas or suggestions????

Help would be great

They're expensive, but you'll be able to create a lot of different "looks" using a tilt/shift lens.

For less $$, I'd choose a macro -- 60mm to 105mm.

You could start with extension tubes - I had great fun with those, but they are hard to use when you are varying the distance to the subject a lot. So, I finally cashed out my stock (in joke) and bought the Canon 100mm f2.8 macro lens. It is great fun - I use it all the time for straight outdoor shots as well as macro and table top work.

I've only been into macro for a month or two, but check out my gallery on this site to see what sort of things I've been up to.

For a tabletop scene I'd be concerned about depth of field. So I'd start with a cheap 28 or 35mm "prime". Build out from there with extension tubes, etc.
