problem with new 7D

13 years 6 months ago #1774 by fotofishinaddict
For the many months now I have really enjoyed using my 40D and I feel I have a good knowledge of its use. However, yesterday I received my new 7D and after reading the manual I decided to use the same settings from the 40D onto the 7D as far as I could that is. I have found several issues with the 7D and I don't know if I need a setting changed or what. The problem is using Man, AV TV etc when I depress the shutter button halfway to focus and after focus fully depress the shutter button to take the picture I get a delayed action of about 30 seconds and then a symbol appears in the bottom left of the LCD and the shutter clicks as if it has taken a picture but it hasn't. However, if I fully depress the shutter button to take the picture and then immediately fully depress the shutter button again it takes the picture. I have tried using Auto mode and CA mode and the camera takes pictures no problem at all. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the 7D but haven't had that problem... you should try to find a local camera club.....and someone there could probably help you.

Or call canon's customer service and see if they can help you.

well I was going to say to check with a camera club or canon itself. Hope you've solved the problem by now.
