Here's a list of 5 Popular Canon Prime Lenses:

Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM AutoFocus Wide Angle Lens
{Click HERE for additional Specs & Photos}

The Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM Lens is a venerable wide-angle prime lens that provides sharpness and impressive performance at all settings. Its large maximum aperture of f/1.4 allows for superb low-light photographs, and its circular aperture and narrow depth of field provide pleasing background blur. It is the ideal tool for photojournalists, landscape and event photographers, and anyone who enjoys taking images from a wider perspective. This version "II" improves greatly over its predecessor with the addition of two high-precision aspheric lenses, which correct aberration including curvature of field and distortion. Chromatic aberration common in wide-angle shooting is also reduced by the inclusion of two UD lenses, which ensure optimum image quality and corner-to-corner detail. The EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM features Canon's near-silent Ultra Sonic Motor (USM), which provides super-fast auto-focusing with full-time manual override. The floating internal focus system also helps maintain high image quality throughout the focal range.

FEATURES:
  • SWC (Sub Wavelength Coating) - The anti-reflective SWC (Sub Wavelength Coating) differs from conventional coatings by using a much finer structure, which minimizes ghosting and flaring across the lens surface, regardless of the angle with which light enters or exits.
  • Ring-Type USM Motor - Canon's very best autofocusing mechanisms are in place, permitting full-time manual focusing override without requiring a switchover from AF to MF mode.
  • L-Series - Canon's "L-Series" designation indicates that this lens meets their highest quality standards with excellent color reproduction and edge to edge sharpness

The lens--which hails from Canon's L series--is equipped with an aspherical lens element that helps correct aberrations and improve contrast and sharpness. The lens's floating focusing system, meanwhile, lets you enjoy sharp images throughout the entire focus range. Other details include a ring Ultra Sonic Motor (USM) that ensures quick and quiet autofocusing, a manual focusing option, and a 1-foot close focusing distance.

Long requested by professionals, itís the standard lens for many photojournalists and others who value its low-light capability and performance. With the help of an Aspheric lens element, its contrast and sharpness are stunning, even wide-open at f/1.4 . Solid construction, a powerful ring-type USM for smooth and fast AF, and fulltime manual focusing make this a great lens for film or digital shooters.

Wide and Fast
If you need an ultra-wide angle and a large aperture, one of the following lenses will fit the bill. Ultra-wide-angle lenses can capture scenes beyond your natural field of vision. The EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye, the widest of them all, has a 180∞ angle of view. For more normal-looking wide-angle shots, there are longer wide-angle lenses up to 35mm with the maximum aperture you need.

Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Standard & Medium Telephoto Lens

{Click HERE for additional Specs & Photos}

The 50mm f/1.4 standard lens is a terrific choice for both casual and professional photographers. As a result, the lens obtains crisp images with little flare even at the maximum aperture. The lens's f/1.4 speed, meanwhile, is perfect for available-light shooting. And as a bonus, this lens is the only lens in the EF system to offer an extra-small Micro Ultra Sonic Motor (USM) while still providing a full-time manual focusing option. Surprised the Canon 100mm F2.8 macro isn't on the list. Awesome lens & great for portrait shots, too.

I personally don't want the Canon 35 1.4. It's a nice lens, but when you get better quality from the new Sigma at a cheaper price... well put it this way, if I WANTED the Canon I'd already own it. ;)
