Are there more photographers using PC's or Mac's? See results from FB poll here.

Yesterday we conducted a poll on Facebook page to see which computer photographers were using the the most.

Out of the 443 people who played along with this poll PC computer showed to be the winner with 294 votes. Number of Mac users was 149.

Many of the comments that were made by PC voters said they would own a Mac if the price wasn't so much higher than PC's.

That used to be true, but it's a fallacy now. While you can find very cheap PC's and not real cheap Macs, if you compare what you get in a Mac software-wise you are actually saving money. Also, since you don't need to be running virus protection apps, you get better processor performance.

The best reason to own a Mac is the OS. OS X is a very stable operating system, based on UNIX (Berkeley SD). And with the new Lion, it backs up for you automatically. Restart and everything is right where you left it.

Besides all that, they are more aesthetically pleasing, so you feel more "artistic" using one.

I've been using Macs since their beginning. They are worth the extra to me.

I have a Mac, I used a PC for many years and continued to save until the great day 14 months ago I purchased my MacBook Pro. It is a dream machine. I under use it, however, it is a superb machine and I urge any one thinking of purchasing a new laptop to stop and save up the difference in cost between the PC and the Mac. It will be well worth the wait! :)
