Large format Epson printer

10 years 6 months ago #299313 by Jon Carson
I'm shopping around on ebay for a used large format Epson printer. I hoping I can find a good deal on something that will print at least 30" wide. Something that will deliver gallery quality prints.

BTW would be bonus if it could print on canvas too.

Um, OK. Is there a question there, or just a tweet?

This looks like a post I did here yesterday! I was doing two things at once, posted a comment. Then realized I spaced and my comment was all screwed up and required an edit

O.P. are you looking for a larger format printer?

Hi Jon,

First of all, as used equipment goes, I am not sure I would purchase anything off Ebay...Craigslist sure....you can go an look at it, see them print you nozzle check, look at a test print, but beyond that, I would not buy a USED printer from a person who is far enough away you would think twice about taking them to small claims court for.

2. Why would you buy used when Canon is selling their smaller format professional printers for like 1500 bux? I have owned / used / worked with both and they are both good machines.

3. Call Andy Everding at IT supplies and see what he can do for you on a new machine. He'll take good care of you.

4. As to printing on canvas, its a completely different world than printing on photo papers...so make sure you know what you are getting into before you commit to do that type of work for a commercial (even if its yourself) customer. The costs to do it well are NOT cheap.
