Reasons to upgrade to Window 10?

I'm still running Win 8 on my computer.  I keep getting asked by MS to upgrade to Win 10.  Does anyone know if they have worked out all the bugs with it?

In my opinion 8 was terrible. That tiled view makes me cringe even today. I've been using 10 for a long time, had the beta for quite a while. Not had any major issues with it on my main work machine which was an upgrade from 7 (had 8 fail on me before 10 came out so I went back to 7) & my laptops are on 10 too. Basically 10 is the best things taken from 7 & 8 merged together, cleaned & tuned. Last I checked the free upgrade will last until 07/28/2016.

Yeah Win 8 was terrible, but to me 10 is a security nightmare. My mom accidentally upgraded from 7 to 10, and I spent a lot of time reverting it back. It seems MS made it purposely difficult to do. Ten does not have the old reversion method.

I'm still using XP because AFAIK Microsoft hasn't brought out an improvement on this yet...

As to the advertising pop ups...Just ignore Microsoft's constant brainwashing to buy more of their product...

The freebie apps included, such as Mail, are now all online.  For better connectivity to "mobile" junk I suppose.  To get an e-mail client for my Win10 laptop I had to go all the way back to Windows Essentials 2012!  Fortunately it does still work with Win10.

Also, not sure who else uses QuickBooks for their bookkeeping but be careful before upgrading and check your version. QuickBooks 2015 is the only version supported by Windows 10.

Still on Win 7 here.  Don't need office, don't use social media like facebook, just want a simple OS and my eight year old Dell machine is still doing well. (knock on wood).....

Why so serious?

I moved to Mac and don't have to deal with the Windows stuff any more.  Thank goodness, such a pain

To OP...

Just put windows 7 on my laptop (needed to as the new 7DII RAWS won't convert to DNGS in XP...

7 is probably better for you than 8...at least 7 was designed to run on a PC, unlike 8...
