Can items in download folder on computer be deleted after installed?

I have photos, to apps and other stuff that is sitting in my downloads that I have already downloaded and installed, can these be deleted from here now?

Yes, of course. The assumption is that, should a reinstall of your system be required, you'll be able to find the most current versions of all software.

That said, I've been bit before by websites disappearing, older software being orphaned and no longer available, drivers for old hardware being removed. There's something to be said for keeping track of what you install, saving license numbers, and saving software.

As Gary says - you can keep or delete whatever is appropriate

For myself - if I download anything that becomes loaded into my system I copy to another folder called 'downloaded software' before installing in the first place, and into a known location should it ever need reinstalling

However, for sample pics or news articles that I download from time to time, these get deleted regularly so that the Download folder remains relatively clean
