What is the easiest way to calibrate screen colors in LG monitor?

I dont know about your LG, but i just bought a nice HP and it came w/a software disk, that when run, will take you step by step through a calibration process. I did that initially but i bought the "Spyder 3" to do it the right way. Even after the monitors stock calibration, it was still off when compared to results from the Spyder.
Good luck!

I also got a Sypder 3 for my el cheapo LG monitor. Prior to getting this device I tried getting good print tones (lots of proof trials), then adjusting the monitor closer to how the prints looked. That seems to have been successful, as after playing the Sypder 3 game my mid-tones are unchanged. (Sidebar: many images posted on this site still appear way underexposed) However the whites in highlights really pop more. This has the side effect of making small fonts easier to read. I'm not sure how to analyze this change, but I am surprised that the calibration difference is strongest on one end of the tone range.

I uses a Spyder 3 also because Spyder 2 doesn`t work with Windows7,works great!
All the different names for it are misleading so get the cheapest one.
