New lens or new body?

Hey all,

So I’ve been shooting on the Canon SL2 for about two years now. I mostly use the 50mm 1.8 and the 10-18mm 4.5. But now I’m stuck between upgrading the body to the Sony A7ii body with the 28-70mm or upgrading the glass to the Sigma 18-35 1.8 Art lens. At this time I’m basically just a hobbyist shooting on the weekends or after work. I shoot a lot of landscape/nature and street. This has been a big debate for a while now do any help is greatly appreciated!

Changing systems from Canon to Sony isn't an upgrade. It's changing systems and starting over. Regardless of the fact that the newer product is bigger/stronger/faster and can leap higher.

Oh, wait... that's the Six Million Dollar Man. Never mind.

Suggest you figure out how your current tools don't meet your needs. All I see are short lenses, one notably faster than the other. But still short.  That Sigma has more zoom, but it's still pretty short. A 28-70 is rather a different beast. The SL2 isn't even that old.

So: what's your motivation, and what's your goal?
