Why do some cameras come only manual focus?

Why do some cameras only have manual focus and no auto focus? I know, it's probably what the company wants to make...but why? Is there enough interest in photographers who only shoot in manual?

I guess manufacturers are giving us the choice, the more choice the more chance of sales, as for why, well some people actually dont trust autofocus that well and so only use manual focus, its a choice thing.

That type of camera is the exception, not the rule. That said, most DSLR's offer a choice of either AF or MF. A base model film camera may only offer manual focus (not many of these made anymore). Point & shoot digital cameras for the most part, do not offer a manual focus option unless it's a top of the line model. Certain shooting situations call for the use of manual focus as auto focus can't handle some situations (macro shooting, low light shots, subjects in dense cover to name a few)...

BTW, I'm one of those shooters who shoots using MF more than I use AF...(Macro shots)

Not really....I've always been more likely to manually focus my cameras...
