A couple more tweaks I've been working on

12 years 4 months ago #187452 by John37
Not to say these people are tweaks! But these are some photos I've been working on. I'm not trying to "better" anyone. I'm simply trying to learn the program. In some of these I'm going for more than just the natural look. Any Cc welcome as always.
Thank you!

A lot of these are retouches that could make some clients love you.

Of course some are overdone, but that's intentional just to learn the software so I'm not knocking that. I think in the first one, if you're going to make changes you might also want to try straightening her mouth.

Your work on the eyes is really good, I think #2 would look great with the edited eyes and the rest natural.

The last 2 are the best IMHO.

Here's a quick repair I grabbed just a few minutes ago. This is what I want to get good at in addition to shooting. This was a little tough because I had to deal with the exposure, noise, and I literally had to take his left eye and make his right eye, too! I know I can get a lot better than this. But it's a good start.

a couple of more..

This one was fun. I hated that green background. So I shot a photo of a canvas art piece in my office and used that instead. You can still see some of the green in her silohette. But I wanted to move on to other photos.

You're doing ok but you have a tendency to plastic the skin. Watch you don't go over the top bro.

I see what you mean. On some it requires a lot less than others. I need to work on identifying when and how much to apply for each. Thanks for the CC.

NP. Canon cameras have a (unfair) reputation of giving skin a plastic look. This isn't true of course, I think the plastic look comes from overuse of NR. Anyway, the key is to maintain some skin details while reducing the worst parts. You pretty much nailed it on some... I guess time will give you the eye. You work with layers in PS right? That way you can turn layers on/off to see if your improvements are indeed better. Sometimes I work on an "improvement" for a while, then turn it off (click the eye icon next to the layer) and I realize the "improvement" is worse than the original. LOL

Anyway, keep at it bro.
