Is there a bulk edit feature in Photoshop CS4?

One more question for me. I shoot in RAW format and sometimes want to resize all my photos to let's say 1000x800 and convert them all to JPEG in one shot, can that be done? Or am I suppose to one by one reduce size than save as JPEG? That is what I've been doing so far.

thank you

No it's the software that comes with some Nikon DSLRs. I had a trial with my D90 and the full version with my D7000.

I'm sure there must be a batch editor for PS though. Anyone??

Photoshop can batch resize. However I have only done this in jpeg not in raw.
I do not know why you want to resize your raw image anyways.
Create an Action to resize the photos.
Open one photo, start action, resize> save > stop action. Apply the action to all photos you want resized. Or you can create a droplet from your action. Then all you have to do is drop all photos on the droplet.

I think Patty means convert and then resize in one go :)

There sure is, it's easy and here's a screenshot tutorial on how to do it. NOTE: I did this with camera raw 6.0 - prior versions may or may not have what you need to do this. If you have a prior version, you can upgrade to the latest version free at Adobe's website.

After opening your RAW files, hit the "crop tool" button. Choose "custom" from the drop down menu

Now select "Pixels" from the drop down and input 1000 x 800 pixels

You'll see a custom crop marque on your photo now. Be aware that dSLR's output 2/3 or 3/4 format, so your photo will be cropped like you see here.

Okay, now hit "Select All" and then "synchronize"

Your synch menu will pop up, select crop from the pull down menu

Now all your RAW files are in 1000 x 800 resolution. Remember that this 5x4 aspect ratio will cause cropping in all your photos. It's likely this crop won't agree with all of them, like you see below. Go through them all and adjust crops the way you want.

Now, save all files to JPG. Click "Save files" button on lower left hand corner. A dialog will pop up with your save options. Set the options you want, and hit "Save" button. NOTE: I've found it's easiest to leave Destination the same folder, and file naming options the document name. This way your JPG files are conveniently located with your RAW files.

Have fun ;)
