Lightroom Mobile is available

Adobe released Lightroom Mobile for IOS devices earlier this week.  It's an interesting app.  It's not intended as a stand alone iPad photo editor like Snapseed or Photoshop Touch and similar but rather it integrates and syncs with the desktop Lightroom and could be a useful addition to a workflow for some people.  I can see uses for it.  The integration aspect is emphasized by the fact that it is only useable if you have Lightroom 5 and a Creative Cloud subscription or the Photography Program subscription.  It's free to download.

This clip from the Adobe gives a taste of what it can do.

"Import photos from your iPhone or iPad cameraphone straight into your Lightroom catalogue..."

Sigh... another apple-centric product.

I tried out, it's quite fun.  I already have the subscription, and I use my zenfolio app to down my photos to edit.

I don't see it as apple-centric at all.  I think it breaks down barriers between brands.  I'm a Windows user with an iPad and this makes it easier than ever to share images between devices and do meaningful work with them while keeping files synchronized across those devices.  An Adobe rep on one of their forums has said that an Android version is in the works as well but no date yet.

no date yet.... it's still apple-centric till they get an android version out.

I own an iPad too, doesn't mean I'm going to make excuses for Adobe's laziness.

Also, how about synchronizing lightroom over two PC devices? Can you do that without using dropbox or somethign similar?
