Restoring EXIF data in photos processed with Photoshop

I've noticed that if I edit a photo in Photoshop, sometimes the EXIF data is removed from the image.  How can I add the EXIF data back into the photo?

Any exif data from the original image is not removed in Photoshop, it is likely happening when you upload the image and the exif is stripped in for example Facebook. Your original raw file when viewed in for example Lightroom and Photoshop will show your camera settings.

Cheerio! Because the first person to whom I spoke in Sydney greeted me that way :-)

This only applies to color space profile information, and only on file open. It has nothing to do with writing files, nor EXIF as a whole.

+1. You don't say where you find the EXIF missing, but if it's on FB or the like, blame the service. It's not Photoshop.

Webservers are notorious for removing that data to help minimize file sizes. And egregiously compressing JPGs and destroying their integrity.

G'day HC

A qwik test would be to pop into PS, do a Save-As and then review both files in Windows Explorer. Right-click > Properties > Details. If PS is erasing the EXIF data, this simple view will show it up
