Now these are some impressive before and after photos!

So this past weekend I had attended the California Pro Photo West trade show and ran into a company I thought had a pretty interesting product that I wanted to share with you. The company's name is Layer Cake, and they have this massive collection of images that a photographer can drag and drop into a blah photo and turn it into a photo that jumps out! I had stopped for a few minutes and spoke to these guys and have to say I was pretty impressed. Drag, drop, re size, blur, or what ever is needed and your off!

To be honest with you... what made me so impressed was how easy it was to look at all these images you could drag and drop into your photo, and then make a few adjustments so quickly. They have something like 5,000 images you can drag and drop from. Cool stuff if you ask me.

Take a look at these photos and you judge:

The wedding one isn't really improving it IMHO.

I like the clouds in the first one. So how do they work this? You pick and pay for what you use?

You know what, I'm not a 100% on this, I do believe they are selling CD's with collections of images on it.

I agree, the reworked one didn't sit well with me either, however I'm guessing these guys sell a plug in of some sort with all these images at your finger tips, so I'm guessing they loaded these photos up to show what was or could be done rather.

The road, pond and horse one are by far my favorites. Wedding one seems to busy, but the flowers are cool though.

Working on the 4th draft of the opening of the video. I put music on and a little sound fx, but I still need to tweak the animation slightly (the focal length on the "Camera" is wrong in some parts and the logo jumps a bit at one point). Apart from that, I think the opening is done.

Sounds good... can't wait to see how it's progressing!

so went looking at this Layer cake

It appears that this is similar to photobacks, but instead is a collection of inserts to a picture.

Not exactly cheap though, 149.99 a set 8 sets so far in the collection.

I just looked myself, I think that price includes a few hundred photos. Unless I'm wrong.

Interesting. I'm thinking someone spent some serious time cutting out each one of trees and flowers and such!
