How did you come up with your business name?

Do not use sites like GoDaddy.... if you search for the name on their site more than once, they see a demand and buy that domain. Then you have to pay a premium price for it. Smart for them, but sucks for you.

Actually, there's no truth to that at all. Having worked in the industry for a while now, I've never seen this to be the case with any company. Premium domain names are owned by third parties, not the registrar they are being sold through. When I bought my domain names, I searched for them a number of times, using different searches multiple times, and ended up getting my name.

Well, my video production company came from a fake movie poster my friend did years ago. He combined our names and got my companies name.

For my photography company I use to have AD Photography HK which is a combination of my business partner and my first names. Then we decided to conduct business separately but share work, so I just used my own name.

I think using your own name isn't a bad idea. It makes you look like a superstar man.

What I wanted to use was already taken in other places so, so my name is what I use.

In thinking about what was most important to me in capturing an image, especially with portraiture, for me it is making sure that a persons essence is revealed. I also wanted to identify with my business name without using my whole name. I came up with Essence Photography by Martha. If you have a hard time coming up with a name, give it more time; nothing worse than making hasty decisions and being unhappy with them later.:cheer:

I wish I knew how to do this-create an interesting logo to go with a good name...And then how to get it on a computer and add it to all my pic's. Completely foreign to me.
