Professional photographers' organizations have info. on how to determine your cost of doing business and your fees. ASMP has business resources; I don't know if they're pertinent to weddings specifically but they have info. on how to calculate your cost and fees - asmp.org/links/32 .

My first wedding was $100. It was a young couple, both students and very small budget. It would either be me or no photographer. It turned out fantastic, with awesome pics and earned me many contacts. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I was nervous as expected with doing my first wedding by myself, but not to the point I would of been if I had charged $1000. I gave the bride and groom 100 4x6, 5 5x7 and 2 8x10 and I might add I sold many pictures to the family members. I also learned a lot... :beerbang: :beerbang:
It also gave me some great pictures to show my future clients...

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.
