Any thoughts on vehicle advertising for your photography business?

I'm looking to hear if anyone has had a good experience or positive results from having your photography business advertised on your car? I'm just trying to see if this might be worth it.

Really hard to answer, I have a sign for my car, but it is like business cards, who knows where people first get your web site or phone number from. Kinda like asking McDonalds do they get more customers from TV, Radio, web, bill board advertising etc, it all helps to get your name out there... The way I looked at it was that my signs for my car cost less than $50.00 so if I get 1 client it paid for its self..

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.

Personal opinion is with photography it's a nice way to advertise that there is likely to be some expensive equipment in the vehicle worth stealing...

Now having a sign on your car, does that make the car eligible for a tax write off?

To legally make the car a write off you would have to show mileage records that show the car was use for business use only. Other wise you are walking on thin ice if you ask me.

Canon EOS 7D SLR | XT W/18-55 Kit Lens | Canon 50mm 1.8 | Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 | Canon 28-105mm | Canon 75-300mm | Canon 100mm 2.8 Macro | Canon 100-400

Every country has there own tax laws, in Canada you can claim as a business expense any use of your car for your business, so keep records. As far as an avertising sign, you can claim the cost of the sign, but not the car when it is not being used for business. . I am not aware of any tax advantage to having a sign on the car.
