For your GTI you'll need a big one. A 4'x8' sheet of white foam-core would be ideal.
On a pro shoot, we'd use a thing called a butterfly (or an overhead) to bounce the light.

.. we use them on movie sets. A white silk isn't too expensive, but you'd need the stands (and some sand bags to hold them down) too. Overall maybe $500, but you could do everyone's car pics!
There's a market for EVERYTHING you can photograph. You just have to take it to the next level.
